03Is it for you
What helps
- A first visit that’s only a conversation, if you prefer
- A signal to pause at any time
- Headphones and a blanket
- Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) for treatment
Tell us what worries you when you request your visit — it changes how we plan it.
04Cost and insurance
What it costs
$50–$100 per visit (nitrous oxide)
Typical range in the US without insurance (2026 consumer cost guides). Your own estimate comes after the exam, in writing, before anything is done.
- Dental insurance
- Some plans cover nitrous oxide, especially for children. We check before your visit.
- Monthly payments
- Third-party financing such as CareCredit lets you spread the cost, if you’d like.
- No insurance?
- Ask about our membership plan: checkups, cleanings and X-rays for a yearly fee, plus a discount on treatment.
05How we work
Our clinical standards
The details that make a difference to how this treatment is done — and why we do them.
-
A health review first
We go through your health history and medicines before any sedation, and tell you if another option is safer.
-
Oxygen monitored throughout
A small finger clip (pulse oximeter) measures your oxygen level for the whole visit.
-
Adjusted to you
Nitrous oxide is increased slowly until you are comfortable, and can be reduced at any moment.
-
Pure oxygen at the end
Five minutes of oxygen at the end clears the gas before you go home.
-
A stop signal you agree on
Raise your hand and we stop — you stay in control.
