on a CBCT scan of your jaw

01Your path

What happens, and when

  1. Week 0

    Consultation and 3D scan

We look at the bone, nerves and sinus, and talk through the options.

  2. Week 1–2

    Your plan, in writing

You see the implant on your own scan, with the cost.

  3. Surgery day

    The implant is placed

About an hour, under local anaesthetic.

  4. 3–6 months

    Healing

The bone bonds with the implant; you wear a temporary tooth.

  5. Month 4–6

    Scan for the crown

A digital impression — no putty.

  6. Final visit

    Your new tooth

The crown is fitted and your bite checked.

05How we work

Our clinical standards

The details that make a difference to how this treatment is done — and why we do them.

  • 3D planning on a CBCT scan

Each implant is planned in 3D on your scan: the bone, nerves and sinus, and the crown it will carry.

  • Guided surgery

Where it helps, a 3D-printed surgical guide made from your plan places the implant exactly where it was planned.

  • Stability measured, not guessed

We measure how firmly the implant sits before deciding when it can carry a tooth.

  • Healing before loading

Usually three to six months of healing before the final crown, so the bone can bond with the implant.

  • Implant check-ups

Implants need cleaning and checking too: we look at the gum and bone around them at your regular visits.

  • A written estimate first

You get the plan and its cost in writing — with what insurance is expected to pay — before treatment starts.

06Is it for you

Who is a good candidate

Implants suit most adults who have lost one or more teeth, have healthy gums and enough bone — or can have bone added. Smoking and some health conditions affect healing; we’ll go through them with you.

Implants can also support a bridge or hold a denture securely.

08Questions

Questions patients ask

All questions

It’s done under local anesthesia. Most people take an over-the-counter pain reliever for a few days afterwards.

With good care and checkups, implants often last decades; the crown on top may need replacing over time.

Age itself is rarely the issue — bone and general health matter more.
